SPECIES: PISTACHIO

  • Origin

Selection of plants from the Aeginis variety. The selection was made by Mr. Konstantinos Pontikis, Professor of Pomology at the Agricultural University of Athens.

  • Tree

Medium size. Slightly erect growing behavior. The bark is light grey in color. It is considered a very productive variety with excellent quality nuts.

  • Fruit

Large size (25x16mm) and long, egg-shaped form. The color is yellow-green and slightly pink where the sun can reach. The nut inside is red-pink, crispy and very tasty.

  • Maturation – Harvest

Flowerin and maturation are 10 to 15 days later than Aeginis variety, placed respectively late April and mid-September.
