Tree

The tree has strong, semi-upright growth. It is a very productive variety with rapid entry into production. For better results, it is suggested to be grafted into low-vigour rootstock. This variety is excellent for high density orchards.

Fruit

The fruit becomes heart-shaped when ripe, with great size. The skin is dark red. It has sweet aromatic taste and firm texture. The fruit is highly resistant to cracking.

Maturation

Late flowering, but the flowers remain active for a long period of time. Maturation and harvest early to mid-June.

Taste

Orange-colored flesh, firm and of good flavor.

Overall evaluation

Regina is the benchmark among mid-late cherry varieties. Though challenging to manage, it offers great quality and is well regarded in the fresh market.
